Sacred Obligation
They sit in their library
and read from an
arcane magic book
written by an alchemist
from the moors of England.
The heavy rain tapping
on their windows
finally lets up and
they see a rainbow
and then an abundance
of much-needed sunshine.
Instead of journeying outdoors,
the astute poet feels
a sacred obligation
to stay in their library
and write a poem
from the marrow
of their tired soul.
Daisy the baby bird giving me kisses
